흰담비들은 미술관에서 일하는 젊은 여성 노동자에 대한 페이크 다큐멘터리 필름이다. 이 영화는 나와 함께 미술관에서 일했던 동료들과의 인터뷰를 기반으로 구상되었다. 불안정한 노동 환경을 참으며 살아가는 젊은 여성들을 아동 소설인 소공녀에서 발췌한 구절을 인용해 그리며, 영화는 용돈 벌이를 위해 중랑천에 흰담비 사냥을 나가는 한 여성을 보여준다. 단기 계약과 파트타임 일자리를 옮겨다니는, 고등 교육을 받은 젊은 여성 노동자들은 흰담비 코트를 입은 소녀일 수도 있지만, 그 자기 자신이 코트의 재료가 되는 흰담비일 수도 있음을 영화는 제시하고 있다.

The Ermines is a fake documentary film about young female workers in museums. This film is based on interviews with my colleagues from the museum I’ve worked. The film quotes 《A Little Princess》 (by Frances Hodgson Burnett, 1905) to depict young women living in an unstable working environment by showing a woman who goes on a weasel hunt in Jungnang River to earn pocket money. Young, highly educated female workers who move between short-term contracts and part-time jobs may be the girls in ermine coats, but the film suggests that they are the ermines for a coat.
